In my search for the Truth of life, I followed the Eastern tradition of rigid adherence to the precepts and meditation. Within a brief period I reached the state of jhanas.  To my dismay I discovered that all these were not leading me in the direction towards the  Truth of Life.

I found that the next step beyond the jhana was the state of dreams and eventually the state of  dreamless sleep. From dreamless sleep I came back to the physical awake state in which I practice meditation and reach Jhanic states and again fall back to dreams and dreamless sleep. This was ending in a cul-de-sac. This was undoubtedly frustrating to a seeker. But my search continued regardless.

It was at a most unexpected time on a Vesak full moon day, in a carnival like atmosphere  and in the midst of  thousands of people that I reached   the Enlightened Vision. I was holding the hand of my young son and enjoying the Vesak decorations.  I was attracted to a decoration in front of me which showed three figures. On either side were  dancing figures of male and female forms and in the middle was a form  of a skeleton. There was light mandolin music in the background. As I watched on, the mandolin music gradually  faded away and I saw the male and the female figures vanishing  after merging with the skeleton. The skeleton form continued to dance.  I was focused and not pulled back to the senses and to the thinking mode to question what happened to the male and female figures. I only watched on and I was one with the unfolding drama.   Then I saw suddenly the  skeleton moving in my direction and merging with my body .

At that point the world shaking event happened. I was fully conscious and was standing on my feet and I knew I was not dreaming. I saw the sky and earth collapsing as my whole person started  disintegrating. Trillions of molecules of my body blended and merged with the  enormous, expansive, magnificent and empty Universe.  I felt the Cosmic energy within me and I had become one with the Universe and ceased to be an entity independent of it.
I heard a clear  distant voice saying “resist nothing”. I followed its command and I could see clearly before my eyes  the whole universe, including the sun, moon and the planets. Then I heard another voice suggesting that I should see other solar systems. There I stood in awe, watching the whole cosmic drama unfolding before me.  But the marvel was that there was no “I” or “Me’ witnessing this drama.

As this drama started fading away, I could gradually see the male and female forms and the skeleton reappear.  I could  hear the light music of the mandolin again  in the background.   I could feel the small son still holding my hand. I cannot say how long this unique unfolding lasted because it was an event beyond senses, thinking and Time.
When I fully came back to ‘normal’  senses, I found that my false ‘ego’ which had dragged me through the long Samsaric journey had got completely dissolved and that I had reached the journey’s end. Life  was not going to be the same as before.

Ever since then my eyes saw, ears heard, the nose smelt, the tongue tasted, the body touched  in the normal way without distorting and altering as it used to be. There was no more processing of signals sent through the senses by the mind and my reacting to them. Since then I am  governed by a Higher Consciousness  ( Mahapanna) which is  connected to an unfathomable bottomless subterranean reservoir of Universal wisdom. I had already witnessed how miniscule the capacity of the human mind is, relative to the Universal wisdom.

I was not to be  directed  or guided by the mind and ‘thinking’  any more…”

Much development work had been done at the head quarters in Wanduramba. People at all walks of life have contributed their funds and labour for infrastructure development. However, much needs to be done to provide the basic facilities to large numbers who flock to listen to the Master. Plans are afoot to build a library to store thousands of CDs and DVDs containing the sermons and valuable books, living rooms, common halls etc.

In addition to sharing of Dhamma other social service works are undertaken to help the community. It is estimated that a further Rs. Twenty five million would be required to complete the project. Any voluntary contributions are greatly appreciated to support this noble endeavor.
